LAST DAY IN BELIZE!
It was our last day in Belize, and it was only fitting to visit a Mayan Pyramid! This temple is called XUNAN TUNICH which means the "stone maiden". I was waiting to go to this pyramid because I've always always wanted to see one in real life. It was such a beautiful day out the rains had just passed, and we were the last group to go so we had the pyramid and the ball court to ourselves for a few hours. This pyramid was an important element to the sociopolitical connotations for the civilizations during their time. There was a lot of sites vying for resources and power during the time of the ancient Maya. It was fun to be on the top over looking the many different places I had traveled to within Belize too!
